Canada Learning Guide aims to be usable by as many visitors as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or browser accessibility settings.

What we've built in

• Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) on every page.
• A visible "skip to content" link at the top of every page.
• Keyboard-accessible navigation, buttons, and the mobile menu toggle.
• Visible focus outlines on interactive elements.
• Descriptive link text rather than generic "click here" links.
• Sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
• Responsive typography that respects browser zoom and text-size settings.
• Support for the "reduced motion" operating-system preference.
• No information conveyed by colour alone.
• Alt text on meaningful images; decorative graphics are marked as such.

Known limitations

As a growing informational website, some pages may not yet meet every accessibility best practice. We are not currently claiming formal WCAG certification. We welcome feedback on accessibility issues.
